Hey Ordinary,
I wrote a post about this last week:

“Sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.”
Last week, I prayed that God would put in my way decisions in which I would need insane courage to make. I really only had one. I was starting cold calls for a new part time sales position I decided to take at my buddy’s company, T&S Web Design. (so if you need help with a website let me know! (shameless self promotion*) I hadn’t made sales calls in a long time and to be honest, as irrational as it sounds, it was a little afraid to start…
If you have ever been in sales, you know what I’m talking about. We in the industry call it ”call reluctance.” I was thinking of anything I could to not have to make calls. I checked my email. I checked Facebook. I responded to some text messages. I checked Facebook again. But then I had it. “What are you doing, Michael? 20 seconds of courage… Okay… and go…”
I mustarded up the courage and made my first call. It went AWESOME! I talked to the girl on the other side of the phone for about 45 minutes. Not only was it an enjoyable conversation, her company needs our services! We are sitting down on Tuesday to talk. This will probably end up being my first sale! Possibly a big one as well! Yeah! Not only was it a great start, it WAS a start. That initial call, that single decision, that 20 seconds, helped me get over the initial barrier keeping me from living a life of excellence :)
What is it that you know you need to do, but are reluctant to? It can be small. Or it can be big. Sales calls? Confronting a co-worker? A uncomfortable conversation you know you need to have? Whatever it is, I encourage you to do it this week ;)

Hope you’re doing well!
